Returning to DA?

Journal Entry: Thu May 17, 2007, 7:05 PM
Wow, 's been a while since I've submitted anything.
I lost all of my unsubmitted stock in a harddrive screw up in march.

The good news is that I plan on buying a new camera this summer. The problem with that is that I haven't even started looking for good stuff (I'm thinking Nikon D70). If you've got any suggestions for SLRs in the $700 range, let me know please.

And more good news; I've got CS3 Extended and Lightroom ready to install in August when I get my quad-core ^_^.

You can thank :iconkmatthew: for getting me to think about coming back to the devart world.

<3 Faraz hehe, thanks for your advice. I haven't had school for about a week so I'm over it slightly. I don't really have any friends at school, so if I don't have anyone to depend on it may get a little worse xD. I'll just try to focus on being at the top of all of my classes. I get my wisdom teeth out tomorrow though x-x, so I might not be able to focus on school xD.

How have you been lately?

10 second save times! Yeesh! Yeah, that's probably a good reason not to use it.... I guess there are probably some applications for it (because you don't that often need to shoot more than once every 10 seconds, but still...)

^_^ I might fiddle around w/ it sometime then (I shyed away from it when I first used it due to the impossibly long save times {like 10/15 seconds}). Thanks for the help.

Saw your question about RAW, thought I'd follow up. For myself, I don't shoot anything but RAW unless I'm doing long bursts- (10+) ... however, my situation is probably a little different. That aside, raw advantages are in that a raw file is more or less like a negative- you can push or pull it by as much as two stops either way, you can adjust contrast saturation and brightness losslessly, so you don't get that weird blocking up effect that seems to be such a problem in jpeg editing. Disadvantages are obvious- fewer shots on a card, slower save time/smaller buffer, and dealing with huge numbers of them can be a pain.
